Dr Olugbenga Bejide is an occupational health and safety physician, a management consultant and a community development advocate with over 30 years experience working in multinational companies and at the community levels. Apart from the medical and surgical degrees of M.B.,B.S., he has three Master’s degrees in Public Health, Business Administration and Marketing and also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM) and a Fellow of the Occupational Safety and Health Association (FOSHA).
He came into the Nigerian Institute of Management about 30 years ago with a membership No 23038 and has been at various times the Ibadan Chapter Chairman and later the South West Zonal Secretary. He is involved in public and private clinical practice, health system design, health programme implementation and evaluation at local, regional and international levels in Nigeria and in Zambia, Zimbabwe and Jamaica some of them in Heineken Africa Foundation and The Rotary Foundation. He is a consummate community development advocate and practitioner. He is currently the President of Rotary Club of Iyaganku-Ibadan after serving as the District Editor three years earlier.
A recipient of the Osun State Government award for Community Development in 2007 and Paul Harris Fellow award of Rotary International in 2008, Dr Olugbenga Bejide is currently the Chief Consultant and Chief Executive of Jabulani Consults Limited a firm of occupational health and safety consultants with offices in Ibadan (Nigeria), Accra (Ghana) and South Africa (Johannesburg).
Olugbenga Olukanmi Bejide was born in Ijebu-jesa on 16th July 1961 to John Folorunso Bejide and Dorcas Odunola Bejide both of Ijebu-jesa but now of blessed memories. Young Gbenga attended UNA School in Kano and St Matthew’s ‘A’ Primary School, Ijebu-jesa before proceeding to Government College, Ibadan on government scholarship. He attended universities in Lagos, Ibadan, Akure and Edinburgh and worked in Oluwa Glass Company PLC, Nigerian Breweries PLC and Heineken International, among others. He is also the Business Development Manager of Health Reform Foundation of Nigeria (HERFON).
He was elected the NIM South West Zonal Chairman on Friday 11th October 2013 to serve a term of two years in the first instance ending 10th October 2015. He remains a member of the NIM Governing Council for the same period.
